Government Internships In South Africa



Most sectors of Government has internships made available each year. The fields, requirements, stipends and application processes differ slightly.

However, we have included information that can be found with most Departments here. This will aid you in finding an internship that is ideal for you.

All Departments of Government support the labour laws, equity act and seek young talented candidates for a variety of internships.

Unemployed graduates, people with disability and those from previously disadvantaged communities are all welcome to apply.

Most of the internships will run for a period of 12 months. During this time, candidates will receive a stipends, while gaining invaluable knowledge and experience.

The Government Departments aim to enhance the youth’s development, foster scare skills and create an economically stable community.

Internships will be advertised via media print, online platforms as well as through University campus career offices.
